Third time’s the charm, except where it comes to The X-Files. After the upbeat second episode, we’re back in Carter Country, and that means characters behaving in head-scratching ways, dumb plot holes and a campy villain. And yet, somehow, we manage to rant about it forever. Before, we discuss some recent viewings, including Duncan’s viewing of Bo-recommended Gun Woman, the disappointment of modern boilerplate comedies, an unexpected detour into Star Trek: The Next Generation and then we can get into the episode of The X-Files! It’s Monster of the Week time, and we’re dealing with doppelgangers, dookie, an especially horny Mulder, forgetting your own children and much more!

We return after a rocky start to see if The X-Files can still warm our hearts, but not before we dive into a whole bunch of movies. Duncan bemoans the lackluster Insidious: The Last Key (note spoiler time sync below) and proclaims his love for Candyman and sinks his teeth into Savagelands, while Bo gets down with creepy dolls in Annabelle: Creation and the insider doc Electric Boogaloo, but does not get down with horror anthology The Dark Tapes. Then, it’s off to the investigation with a welcome return of badass Scully, smartass Mulder and goofy science fiction premises. It’s almost like an X-Files episode! Meet a menacing roadie! Revel in the sexual innuendo! Buy some swag from Duncan and Bo Co.! Insidious: The Last Key spoilers from 15:00 – 21:00.

The journey continues! With Bo still recapping Twin Peaks episodes in a remote cabin, Duncan drags him back for one more case – the mystery of what the hell has happened on The X-Files. Season 11 kicks in with a big mythology episode, building on the whackadoo finale of Season 10. Wilfred Brimley guest stars as Special Agent Fox Mulder, who apparently doesn’t want much to do with actual X-Files-related work, and we thank him for his driving advice. Also, twists and turns involving brain broadcasts, ridiculous car chases and wanton murder! And, we get some time to catch up on recent viewings of Blade of the Immortal and the genius of Takashi Miike, the deceptive beginning of The Blackcoat’s Daughter and much more! We’re back on the case and nothing will ever be the same!

It has all led to this! This brand new episode rounds out our look at the grand breadth of David and Lynch and Mark Frost’s Twin Peaks. Firstly, thank you all for listening, this has been one of the greatest joys of my podcasting life. Secondly, enough jibber-jabber! We get down to talking about The Disaster Artist and The Villainess before we dive into the last batch of craziness Twin Peaks has to offer, and then it’s off to the haunted Northwestern town one final time. There, we explore the origins of the delicious snack gnarlybob, we get a Phillip Jeffries voice in time to not do the show anymore, a return of Chris Isaaks, and then we head into the Black Lodge for all kinds of craziness. There’s a modern Sherlock Holmes, singing DoppelCoopers, naked Jerrys, the unresolved storylines, the possible magic of Forrest Gump, a dumb joke made great, a round of Bob Ball (including an evaluation of the world’s most dangerous balls) and try to explain what the hell happened in the finale. I speak for Duncan and myself when I say thank you all again for making this one of the greatest journeys I’ve ever experienced. We’ll see you all for The [...]

The end is nigh! With only two episodes of the podcast left, we get down to business and talk nothing but Twin Peaks! Mostly. We also uncover Duncan’s Star Trek fandom, Bo’s trip to a Star Trek convention, talk a slew of movies including 1922, Creep 2, Alien: Covenant, Mindhunters and a brief chat about Stranger Things Season Two. Then, it’s off to Twin Peaks to talk more Audrey, Dougie, Gordon and the whole kooky Twin Peaks gang. We are barreling toward out final episodes, so strap in for some big revelations, escalating “greatest thing ever”s and Monica Bellucci!

Welcome back to Duncan and Bo Go to Twin Peaksies! This time around, we’ll be digging into some wonderfully Lynchian episodes, but first we touch on Duncan’s take on Leatherface and Happy Death Day, Bo checks out Found Footage 3D and debates A Dark Song before being a whimp about Hounds of Love. Then, it’s off to the races with Twin Peaks: The Returnises where we get into the pie-fueled return of Miriam, Carl’s eerie van powers, Shelly’s poor choices, Belushi’s bloodlust, Tammy gets promoted and Diane gets deputized, Sarah Palmer is not doing well, Gordon entertains a lady and Albert is unimpressed and, of course, AUDREY!!!

Before diving into the episodes for this entry, we take some time to talk about Scottish thriftiness, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Gerald’s Game, and Bo completely spoils 2017’s The Mummy. We then turn our attention to two more great episodes of Twin Peaks and explore Tim Roth’s Bowie-inspired accent, whether DoppelCooper is still possessed by Bob, Bobby Briggs visits his mother over here, the return of Matthew Lillard and some deep mythology, Dougie finally goes to the doctor and gets some action, Nadine goes into business, Richard Horne cements his place as the primary jerk of Twin Peaks and we once more devolve into barking noises at one another. Now pass the damn peas and get listening!

Things are gonna get weird… We are tacking the oft-mentioned episode eight of Twin Peaks: The Return, but not before we get into the preceding episode and some talk about Psycho 2, The Belko Experiment, It (spoilers from 32:15-52:45), Agent Smith the angel, a welcome return from Doc Haywood, we come up with a great movie idea, the tale of the Phantom Logger, Diane vs DoppelCooper, Naomi Watts vs police, Ike the Spike!, “The” Nine Inch Nails, the threnody of Aerosmith and how truly incredible this episode of television is. From here on out, it’s uncharted territory, so jump in and mind the disgusting frog-bugs!

Before we get down to business, we have to sort out if Takashi Miike is the Japanese Scorsese and round-up that Game of Thrones finale. Then, of course, we dive into the greatness of these episodes. There’s wedding wings, new impressions, drugged-out teenagers, Harry Dean Stanton, a surprise Lifeforce appearance, innocence lost and dead children. You know, fun!
