Ah, love. To quote Matt Groening, love is like hurtling across the frozen tundra when, suddenly, the snowmobile flips over. At night, the ice weasels come. We debate the respective merits of the 1981 comedy classic Modern Love and reflect on the true meaning of ‘uncomfortable.’ Duncan gets all European with the coming-of-age tale Blue Is the Warmest Color, which depicts the burgeoning romance and fallout of the relationship between two young French women. Regardless, neither of these are going to end well. Can Duncan tie the season or will Bo extend his lead to a confident 2-0? Find out in this episode!

Season Two is here! Welcome back to the cinematic theater of conflict that is Duncan and Bo Come Correct! For the kick-off of Season Two, we come together to discuss two examples of French cinema. Duncan gets all black-and-white with Luc Besson’s Angel-a, in which a down-on-his-luck crook meets a beautiful woman with an appetite for life and a fantastic secret. Bo brings the rabbit-raisin’, water-needin’ drama of Jean de Florette to the table, and, of course, Gerard Depardieux plays a hunchback. Can you even call people that anymore? Hunchback-American? Also, some talk of Mad Max: Fury Road and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. Who takes the early lead? Who can begin season two with the better foreign film? And why can’t Bo say “repeat?” All this and more answered as Duncan and Bo Come Correct!!!

It’s the Feast versus the ‘Beast in the final episode of season one, and the first round of Duncan and Bo Come Incorrect! With victory in hand, Duncan shows up to the party with a 5000-year-old Blood Feast. With the intention of proving that his pick is the worst-yet-wonderful movie, Duncan’s film boasts inept cops, ridiculous books, ’60s-era cheesecake, and the worst sacrifice in film history. Bo has been touting his pick for several episodes, and brings the thunder with a film filled with stop-motion monsters and a plot that requires a degree in bad filmmaking to decipher. Also, a weird old man and his toaster permits. This one has to be heard to be believed! Final song: “Hazy Shade of Winter” by The Bangles. Special thanks to Jamie Jenkins for providing our non-robotic voice all season long. See you in May everyone!

After eleven hard-fought episodes, it all comes down to this. With a loss, Bo must admit defeat to Duncan for season one. With a win, a tie is still possible, which is technically a win for the United States, based on the same logic that America rules and Scotland drools. Duncan comes armed with a post-modernist tale of revenge in the Australian outback, a Guy Pearce-starring film entitled The Proposition. Unimpressed with his film rival’s new-fangled movie, Bo fires back with the last movie starring American icon John Wayne called The Shootist. With the sun setting behind them and hands poised above their pistols, two cinephiles prepare for a duel on the cinematic streets. Lock up the ladies and little ones, folks, ’cause it’s time to DRAW! Closing song: “I Am an Excellent Steel Horse” by Rock Plaza Central. Check them out.

It’s only right that we address sports films. Neither challenger is willing to admit defeat as Bo brings the heat with the baseball drama, Moneyball. Duncan, riding high on his foreign film picks, goes back to the well for the Iranian feel-good film, Children of Heaven. With only two episodes remaining, every pick is critical. Who will emerge victorious from this battle of wills and film?
