Just in time for Halloween, your hosts do battle on familiar ground as they present each other with a pair of previously-unseen fright flicks! Bo brings a cinematic adaptation of the graphic novel series Trailer Park of Terror, complete with undead demolition derbies, rockin’ zombies and a seductive snuff film director. Not to be outdone, Duncan offers up The Cottage, boasting famed monkey-person Andy Serkis and The League of Gentlemen‘s Reece Shearsmith.  Seriously, if you haven’t seen it, you should watch The League of Gentlemen.  Also, there’s a deformed killer.  And large British breasts. Duncan and Bo Come Correct Episode 8: Nobody’s Child

After seven episodes, our heroes delve into the world of bad children and the parents who may or may not love them.  Duncan goes the deeply serious route with the intense drama We Need To Talk About Kevin.  Bo lightens things up (comparatively speaking) with the Bobcat Goldthwaite film World’s Greatest Dad, featuring the recently-departed Robin Williams.  It’s the battle of the bad kids in the latest episode of Duncan and Bo Come Correct!

Duncan and Bo Come Correct, Episode 7: The Pain of Dramedies

Having established victories in the previous two episodes, Bo swaggers into this episode with the Kenneth Lonergan-directed comedy-drama, You Can Count on Me.  Boasting incredible performances by Mark Ruffalo and Laura Linney, how can he lose? Duncan refuses to be denied, however, returning from two losses with the near-future fantasy Robot & Frank, with the full weight of a Frank Langella master-performance behind it. Can two comedy-dramas of such high quality finally tear the show apart?  Can Duncan get back into the competition with a helper robot?  Can Bo extend his win streak and establish a near-insurmountable lead for this season of DBCC?  These questions, and a contentious assertion about cinema’s best Dracula, await you in this thrill-packed episode of Duncan and Bo Come Correct! Duncan and Bo Come Correct, Episode 6: Brains Vs. Brawn!

After tying the previous week with the roundhouse pick of The Contender, Bo heads back into the ring with a movie that mixes the sweet science with a con.  With James Woods in his corner, how can he lose? On the other side of the ring, Duncan steps up with a taste of magical realism and a heady examination of the meaning of happiness and fulfillment. It’s mind vs. mayhem, brains vs. brawn and James Woods and Louis Gossett, Jr, vs. some Swedish people.  Let’s do this!

Duncan and Bo Come Correct Episode 3: Buddies!

Here we are again, faithful listeners, with another round of the greatest battle humanity has yet known.  On the one side, Duncan MacLeish, hailing from Scotland, and avid viewer of cinema.  On the other, Bo Ransdell, American and defender of the freedom to eat a triple cheeseburger with a fork made from an Uzi. This time, they each choose a buddy cop film, but can the strain of competition allow these cinematic brawlers to be buddies at the end?  Also, there’s something about August Underground and heads exploding.

Duncan and Bo Come Correct Episode 4: Auteur-o-Rama!

We have been remiss in getting you, our dear droogs, a new episode.  I, Bo, take full responsibility for that in that it has taken more time to edit this episode.  BUT, this episode is about twice as long as usual, so don’t be so huffy.  In Episode Four, a TIEBREAKER episode, we discuss two very different films from two very different filmmakers, both of whom have produced some of the most interesting cinema in the past decade.  Ben Wheatley and Bobcat Goldthwait give us plenty to talk about with A Field in England and Willow Creek  Enjoy the drama of our discussion when Duncan and Bo decide who has come most correct in the first four episodes, and who will emerge victorious in our 2-2 tie. Duncan and Bo Come Correct: Episode 5; Power!

The score is 3-2, Duncan.  Waylaying Bo with the excellent A Field in England, Duncan pulls ahead and has come most correct over four episodes.  Back against the wall, can Bo tie it up or will Scotland’s favorite son widen the gap?  This episode reveals all! We discuss two films that deal with power, whether criminal or political (what’s the difference really?).  Two films from the year 2000 face off in the cinematic circle, the film Thunderdome from which only one movie may be crowned king.
